Special Topic

What's Fibroblast?

A fibroblast is the most common type of cell found in connective tissue.

Fibroblasts secrete collagen proteins that are used to maintain a structural framework for many tissues. They also play an important role in healing wounds.

A fibroblast is a specific type of connective tissue cell that is found in skin and tendons and other tough tissues in the body. It secretes collagen. In genetics research, it's particularly important because it is a type of cell that is isolatable from people because it is a skin cell, and it can be grown in a laboratory and therefore examined for genotypes and some phenotypes particularly associated with diseases. Christopher P. Austin, M.D.

Function

Fibroblasts make collagen fibres, glycosaminoglycans, reticular and elastic fibers. Growing individuals' fibroblasts are dividing and are synthesizing ground substance. Tissue damage stimulates fibrocytes and induces the production of fibroblasts.

The flat, elongated cells vary in shape from stellate (young) to fusiform and spindle shaped, with cytoplasmic processes present in connective tissue.

With their ability to liberate growth factors, lay down fibroelastic matrices, and proliferate at sites of inflammation, fibroblasts play critical roles in wound healing, tissue repair, and remodeling.

Development

In certain situations, epithelial cells can give rise to fibroblasts, a process called epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).

Plasma Skin Tightening is a revolutionary treatment that allows us to eliminate the excess tissue that causes wrinkles and sagging skin.

When the skin is exposed to plasma energy, it goes through the process of sublimation (the action of turning matter from solid to gas bypassing the liquid stage).

In other words, we are ‘evaporating’ the excess tissue without the application of excess heat and in a non-invasive manner.

This sublimation effect causes an instant contraction of the tissue eliminating wrinkles and sagging skin.  Classroom lecture emphasizes patient assessment, clinical evaluation and proper application and procedure techniques.

WHY CHOOSE PLASMA PEN SKIN TIGHTENING?

The benefits of plasma technology are incredible.
First, the treatment does not require any anesthetics, since it is neither a surgical nor an invasive procedure.

You won’t have any stitches or unsightly side-effects after treatment. The healing time is incredibly short due to the low impact of the process. Adding to the shortness, the entire process only takes about 30 minutes in our office, so you can fit us into your busy schedule.  Best of all – it’s affordable.

Too many under-the-knife options to reverse aging seem to cost an arm and a leg.

We believe that everyone deserves to feel confident and youthful about their appearance.
